We need an Design Engineering Tech ll with experience in the design, qualification and compliance requirements for Mil/Aero products developed in an AS9100/ISO9001 program level environment.

You will have the ability to interface with multiple departments within the organization and with customers on development of products associated to the programs. This position will influence the approach taken with development projects and will drive projects to successful conclusion.
General Responsibilities:
· Sample products and initial documentation in support of the New Product Development process
- Build outline of how samples were made
· Estimate of requirements to support a sample build
- Includes labor, material and equipment usage assessments
· Tooling requirements and possible tooling solution concepts
- Design, modification and ease of use
· Evaluations of proof of concept and prototype builds
- Design improvements and risks associated with a new product
· Development & repair of non-Timbercon products / offerings
Skills and Qualifications:
· Minimum of 4 years practical experience preferably building, testing and documenting fiber optic and opto-mechanical devices
· Knowledge of fiber optic cable assembly and/or wire harness manufacturing
· Familiarity with ISO9001/AS9100 quality management systems
· Experience with Bills of Materials
· Ability to read blueprints, schematics and drawings
· Ability to work in groups or in cross functional teams
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
· Excellent organizational and follow-up skills
· Ability to control diverse priorities and assignments
· Strong attention to detail

· Build Proof of Concept units
· Build Prototype products
· Characterize the performance of prototype products
· Support the Design efforts by providing technical support to testing, qualification activities and/or analysis work
· Provide feedback to Process & Design Engineering of new equipment
