Timbercon Adds Three New Engineering Positions

Timbercon, Inc., a fiber optic product and solution manufacturing company, today announced the addition of three new positions to its Engineering department. Kevin Wiley has been hired as Design Engineer. Matthew Boggess has been hired as a Process Engineering Intern and Devon Sherrow-Groves has been hired as a Design Engineering Intern as part of the Master’s Internship Program at the University of Oregon.

Kevin Wiley

Mr. Wiley is responsible for generating design concepts for new projects based on customer requirements as well as creating concept (prototype) drawings and models. He also will also participate in the design and development of new products. Mr. Wiley brings over twenty years of experience in electrical engineering to Timbercon.

“Kevin brings a strong electrical engineering background to Timbercon,” said Chuck Weatherly, Design Engineering Manager. “He will be an integral member of our Engineering group, helping us to drive new product designs from inception through production.”

Prior to joining Timbercon, Mr. Wiley served as an Electrical Engineer at various organizations, including American Aerospace Engineering, Williams Controls, and Pixelworks. He has also worked as a Consultant for Corning, Burt Thompson Engineering, Soltronix, and RadiSys. Mr. Wiley has a BA from Rutgers University and a BSEE in Computer Engineering from the University of Portland.

Matthew Boggess

Matthew Boggess will be responsible for various process engineering projects as directed by Timbercon’s Project Management and Engineering teams. Mr. Boggess is a graduate student currently attending the Master’s Industrial Internship Program through the University of Oregon. He has experience with OSLO and MEEP optical modeling software and optical fiber based experimentation. He is also a member of Oregon Center for Optics and National Society of Collegiate Scholars. Mr. Boggess has a BS in Physics from the University of Oregon.

Devon Sherrow-Groves

Devon Sherrow-Groves will be responsible for design engineering projects as directed by Timbercon’s Project Management and Engineering teams. Mr. Sherrow-Groves is enrolled in the University of Oregon’s Masters Internship Program in applied physics with a focus on optical materials and devices. He has four years of education in theoretical and experimental physics and experience with Mathematica, MEEP, OSLO, Java and C++. Mr. Sherrow-Groves has a BA in Physics from Willamette University.
