Timbercon Announces the Net Sim for Corning® LEAF® and OFS’ TrueWave® RS Fiber

Timbercon, Inc., a fiber optic product and solution manufacturing company, expanded its Network Simulation product capability to include specific fiber types designed to simulate network structures and profiles using TrueWave® RS Fiber and Corning® LEAF® Fiber.

Timbercon’s Network Simulation modules are designed to provide an easy and efficient means for testing, analysis, demonstration, training, interoperability and calibration. These new Net Sim module configurations incorporate Corning LEAF and TrueWave RS fiber. Corning LEAF provides high capacity, broad system flexibility. It is the leader in polarization mode dispersion (PMD) and has the lowest attenuation of any NZ-DSF on the market today. TrueWave RS offers low dispersion slope and low dispersion values that accommodate lower channel counts, as well as full band capabilities.

“We are able to offer a wide variety of standard and custom options for our Net Sim modules, enabling them to be used in many applications,” said John Lee, Vice President of Sales & Marketing for Timbercon. “Whether it requires multiple fiber types, varying lengths or multiple connector interfaces, Timbercon’s Network Simulation module can be tailored to each customer’s specific requirements.”

Timbercon’s Net Sim modules are available with up to eight channels in varying lengths up to 200 kilometers. Single mode, multimode, polarization maintaining and other special application fibers are all supported by the Net Sim product family. Timbercon’s Net Sim module is customizable for special lengths, channel counts, interface connector types, fiber type/manufacturer or the physical enclosure.
