Armor
A component on a communication Cable that is intended to protect internal components, including Buffer tubes and electrical conductors, from external damage.
Note: Armor is typically composed of steel or aluminum tape wrapped around an inner jacket. Additionally, an outer Jacket typically covers the armor for added protection.
