Band Spectral

An interval in the Electromagnetic Spectrum defined by two wavelengths, frequencies, or wave numbers. With Landsat, bands designate the specific Wavelength intervals at which images are acquired. i.e., a band is a slice of wavelengths from the electromagnetic spectrum. Landsat ETM+ has eight bands which collect Radiation from different parts of the electro-magnetic spectrum. Of the eight bands, three bands are visible light, one band is panchromatic, three bands are infrared, and one band is thermal infrared.
