Graded-Index Fiber
Graded-index fiber is a optical Fiber whose Core Refractive Index decreases with increasing radial distance from the fiber axis. There is a significant decrease in modal Dispersion with Graded-Index fiber as compared with single-index fiber.
Multimode graded-index fiber is usually used for transmitting Data over a distances of a couple kilometers. Light travels down graded-index fibers in the shape of a parabolic curve.
