A parametric generator is an optical parametric amplifier with quite high Gain (many tens of dB), SO that a significant Output Power is generated even without any input signal. The physical origin of this emission is parametric fluorescence, amplified to high levels. This phenomenon is similar to amplified Spontaneous Emission in a Laser amplifier.
