A Pigtail is a short length of Fiber attached to a fiber optic component such as a laser. Pigtails are a short fiber permanently affixed to an optical device such as a Laser and is used to couple the device to another fiber. The connection to the other fiber can be accomplised through Splicing or the use of connectors.
