Plastic-Clad Silica Fiber
An optical Fiber having a Glass Core and plastic cladding.
A plastic-clad Silica fiber is a Optical Fiber with a glass core and plastic cladding. Plastic-clad silica fiber is the least popular type of fiber used because Connector application is difficult and the use of adhesives is not possible. Continued research will be making plastic-clad Silica Fibers easier to use in coming years.
