radiometric emissive band calibration brightness temperature
Equations converting unitless Digital numbers (DN) from the Satellite imager to brightness temperature, a measure of the amount of Energy being radiated by the target. Brightness temperature is not the internal (kinetic) temperature of the target except when the emissivity of the target is unity. The at-satellite brightness temperature includes atmospheric radiance SO it does not represent the brightness temperature of the surface. (Source: Julia Barsi).
